Transformation

I took a book on anger amanagement to heart, allowing the painful truths to be my guide, motivated by both regret and hope. I consciously embraced the gravity of my mistakes and the weight is mine to bear.

The more I learn of the preciousness of life and liberty, the better I can appreciate the things I formerly took for granted. Try as I may, no amount of change makes it right.

About Me

Named 'Michael' because my Grandmother told my parents not to! Raised by loving parents who did their best by me; Soured for years by things I could not change; I chose a path of resentment. Add drugs and circumstances few kids could successfully navigate, I dropped out of school in the 9th grade and made more poor choices. Arrested in 1989 at the age of 17, I'm 20+ years into a sentence I've served while learning to appreciate the things I took for granted. Forgiving others has proven easier than forgiving myself, though I take some solace in my personal growth.

People can, and do change. I believe we can learn from our mistakes and strive to be a better version of ourselves, as have I where I reside.
